September 2010 sees the launch of the Wireless Reward Card, an innovative way to target over 100,000 students across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Oxford and York with discounts, offers and deals every fortnight! This can be done locally or nationally depending on the needs of your company.

 

How does it work??

Students who sign up for the Wireless Reward Card are given a plastic tag (approx 50mm high x 25mm wide) that can then be attached to their keys. When each student signs up we take down details such as their location, as well as their email address. This means that we can target the offers specifically to where they are based. Every fortnight the students will then receive an email, highlighting the discounts and offers available in their area – e.g. Get a free cookie when you buy a coffee from Coffee House, Bold Street, Liverpool. However, students can only take advantage of these offers when they show their Reward Card while paying at the various retail outlets, bars, clubs, cafes etc.
We can also email “voucher codes” that can be used when paying for items online – e.g. Log on to www.wastedheroes.com and receive a 15% discount on your t-shirt when you enter the code wastedwireless at the checkout.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE REWARD CARD DOESN’T COST THE STUDENTS A SINGLE PENNY.


Who signs up??

Wireless Magazine was launched last September as a free fortnightly publication distributed around student unions, halls of residence and popular student bars, pubs, cafes and retail outlets across the city centres and student friendly residential areas. Since then we have gone to build up an extensive database of students who have signed up to our e-mailing list through social media, competitions, events and more. Across Summer 2010 and over the fresher’s weeks in each of our target areas we have and will be working even harder to get names and emails of students throughout the UK, with our street teams being sent around with a clipboard, a pen, and thousands of eager students trying to get their hands on a good deal!

For any students signing up online via Facebook, Twitter or our website www.wireless-online.co.uk – we would also take their postal address and the Reward Cards will be mailed out completely free of charge.

How do we know they are really students??


Simple really, you can only sign up for the Reward Card with a valid university email address – e.g. abc123@liv.ac.uk. This means that the offers will only be used by students, and the emails will stand out more prominently in their inboxes, as opposed to the amount of spam email that gets sent to email accounts such as Hotmail or Yahoo.

We also promise that we will never email the students with anything other than the fortnightly offers from Wireless. No company, no matter how much they offer us, will be able to spam the students through our email database.

So what’s this all going to cost??


Well there are various ways that you, as a company, can become a part of the Reward Card Scheme – you don’t have to sign up for the long haul, but you don’t have to pay every fortnight either!

The rates for signing up to the Wireless Reward Card Scheme are as follows:

This does not need to be paid up front. We understand that marketing budgets and cashflow don’t always stretch into the hundreds and thousands every month, and so we offer a Pay Monthly option for both local and national clients. There is no additional cost for this, we would simply break the payments down into monthly installments, for example –

Local Rate for One Academic Year = £600
Academic Year = September to June = 9 months
£600 ÷ 9 payments = £72 for the first month and £66 for 8 months thereafter

Anything else you should know??

Quite simply, the Wireless Reward Card is an incredibly easy way to market your company to over 12,500 students locally every fortnight, or over 100,000 students throughout 8 top university areas. With other discount booklets, leaflets, vouchers and print-outs you are always relying on the fact the customer has brought a piece of paper out with them – with the Reward Card, you are simply relying on the fact that the student has brought their keys with them! Instead of a potential customer walking past your store or bar, and thinking “I’ll pop in with a voucher next time…”, they will have access to the discount immediately on production of their card – that way they won’t forget to take advantage of your offer, they’ll just use it straight away!
